What We Collect
Information you give us directly:
- Name and email address — to deliver your song and communicate with you about your order.
- Story details — the personal memories, names, places, and details you share in our order form. This is the raw material for your song.
- Order preferences — occasion, genre, vocal style, delivery tier.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic usage data — pages visited, time on site, referring URL. Collected via standard web analytics. This data is anonymized and aggregated.
- IP address — collected by our hosting provider (Netlify) as standard practice for all web traffic.
Payment information:
All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect, see, or store your credit card number, billing address, or any other payment details. Stripe's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for the following purposes:
- To create your song — your story details are used by our production process to write and produce your personalized song.
- To deliver your song — we send your finished MP3 to the email address you provide.
- To communicate about your order — confirmation emails, delivery notifications, and revision exchanges.
- To follow up after delivery — one follow-up email asking about your experience and, separately, a review request. You can opt out of these at any time.
- To improve our service — anonymized, aggregated data helps us understand what's working and what isn't.
How We Store & Protect Your Data
Your order information is stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to the business owner. Your story details are used to produce your song and are not distributed beyond what is necessary for production.
We retain your order information — including your name, email, and story details — for up to 12 months after your order is complete. This is to:
- Handle any revision requests within the 30-day window.
- Respond to any customer service inquiries related to your order.
- Maintain records in case of disputes.
After 12 months, your personally identifiable story details are deleted. Anonymized order records (occasion, genre, tier) may be retained for business analytics.
We take reasonable precautions to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data transmitted over the internet.
Cookies & Tracking
Our website uses minimal cookies. Specifically:
- Functional cookies — used to remember your wizard progress within a single session. These are temporary and deleted when you close your browser.
- Analytics cookies — if we use an analytics service, it may set cookies to track anonymized page visits and traffic patterns. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels that follow you across the web.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the order wizard on our site.
We do not currently run Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing tags, or any other behavioral advertising trackers. If this changes, we will update this policy.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — you can ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — you can request that we delete your personal data. We will do so within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.
